Zipli - Food Surplus Management for a Circular Economy

We had a delightful experience working on this project. We had the opportunity to use the latest AI tools to launch features quickly for fast-paced, real-world testing—not just with everyday users, but also with major organizations operating in Finland such as the Sodexo Group.

The core idea behind the technologies developed here was to simplify the reduction of food waste by connecting donors—both large and small—with recipients who can put surplus food to proper use. In this way, excess food ends up on plates meeting nutritional needs instead of in landfills.

We worked on developing a web app to help recipents to see food being donated and make a request. And on the other end a proper dashboard for food chains and restaurant to keep track of their donations, the impact they make (carbon foot print), number of families served and other insights.
